Clover
Okay... maybe this isn't clover. My horticultural knowledge hasn't expanded as much as my eye has in recent years. But it caught my eye during yet another hike, so I snapped the shot.

I remember it was the sharp contrast of red and pink against the lush green that caught my eye with this one. Once I got it home and in the computer, I wanted to reinforce that dramatic edge without distoring the color beyond all reality. So I settled for sharpening the edges with a loose, dark stroke to give the piece a crispness.

Simplicity and contrast... two things life does very well.
