| Tigerfish
So what's a guy from the Rocky Mountains doing with
a Tigerfish in his gallery? Well, I can thank Ocean
Journeys in Denver for this spectacular view of such
an exotic creature.
I'm particularly proud of this piece.
I learned a new technique in Photoshop while working
the image. I duplicated the image layer and ran the
Stylize > Find Edges filter on the copy. Then I desaturated
the result, selected and deleted all the white pixels,
and filled the remaining strokes with a maroon-to-gold
gradient. The end result (along with some judicious
Dry Brush and Watercolor filters) was a very organic,
almost batik effect.
I find it intriguing that I spend a
great deal of my effort in Photoshop using an inorganic
technical tool to create organic human effects. Is that
a paradox? Or just a natural extension of creativity?
