Gash-Voigt Dance Theatre, a
world-renown troupe of interpretive dancers, were
expanding their marketing efforts and invited
artists to submit works for possible use in their
promotional materials.
There were three objectives to this piece: brand
the company name, establish a sense of dance and
movement without labeling the troupe with a "classical"
stereo-type, and suggest a sense of mysticism
and wonder (themes that define the troupe's creative
efforts).
A mask sketch was scanned and textured to serve
as a background image. The scanned image was "streaked"
to reinforce the dynamic nature of the pose, and
the company name was isolated against a black
background.
