Gash-Voigt Dance Theatre, a
world-renown troupe of interpretive dancers, were
expanding their marketing efforts and invited
artists to submit works for possible use in their
promotional materials.
This piece was created from a B&W still photo
from one of the company's dance performances.
The striking pose and expression of the dancer
was used as the backdrop for the figure itself
in a repeated asymmetrical pattern. A swirling
textured overlay was used to establish a center-point
of balance with a "hot spot" near the
figure's face to draw focus. The edges were faded
to black with discrete branding text to frame
and identify the piece without overpowering it.
